How concerned would you be with what the less-involved parent wants?
My ex was not very involved in the first 9 years of our daughter's life. But he has spent the last year trying to fix that.
The thing is, we have different parenting styles. He believes in cheap home remedies for sickness, tells our daughter that she will get spankings if she is bad, and doesn't want her to grow up before he is ready. When he does not like the reality of how his relationship was with her early on, he makes up stories that he thinks I should play along with.
I also believe in spankings, but I give them very rarely and don't threaten one unless I am sure I will go through with it. I "waste money" on dr approved remedies for illness. And if my daughter has a non g-rated question, I give her an honest answer along with an explanation of "but it is up to the parents to decide when their kids are old enough to know this. So you should not bring it up with your friends."
Right now my ex is mad at me for letting our daughter attend the school's thing about changes your body goes through as you grow up. ... There are things he does that make me mad too. I want to put my foot down and tell him "No, you cannot ____." But does that mean I should take his advice when he says "She is not old enough to ___." ?
We do not have any court orders in place. Neither of us can afford the fees, so we are trying to work this out as we go. But I am having a very hard time sharing the decision making power. - It is hard to know when to bite my tongue and when to say "I am the mom, what I say goes."
tiger - the most recent home remedy we spoke of was giving her a dose of turpentine to make sure she doesn't have parasites. ... I am all for trying some herbal remedies. Our dr even suggests them when he thinks they will work. But there is a difference between using a little tea tree oil and drinking paint thinner.
Phil - It helps to know that the protectiveness is a daddy-daughter thing. I didn't know my dad until I was 17, so that's another problem I have. I don't know what a healthy father-daughter relationship should be like.

How to get rid of gnats in house?
Tried vinegar and dish soap but none are coming to it..any other home remedies to make a trap and KILL these pesty little things? We keep our house very clean, but have been noticing little gnats which have multiplied to even larger ones! After about a month a constantly keeping fruits put away and putting bleach cleaners down the drains to which we thought was were they were coming from..today I finally found their home. My little sister had popped open a can of soup and decided she didn't want it so instead of throwing it away she hid it in the very back of our pantry behind many other canned goods. I just so happened to bend down while getting some cereal this morning and saw several crawling on the wall. My dad & sprayed and got rid of what was in there, but some escaped throughout the house. When I poured fruit juice a minute ago I saw 3 or 4 come near it in the kitchen. Ive read everywhere online and have put out red whine vinegar and regular vinegar with sugar and the other with dish soap!!! It isn't working & these things creep me out even though they're harmless I don't want them multiplied bc I've researched all about them..so what do I do?!? Please tell me I'm not the only one who has had this problem & you know a successful way to rid the house of these things. Thank you so much!!

How to reduce redness from sunburn?
I was in the sun all day today playing soccer, and I have really ugly soccer burns on my legs. They are SOO red and it is going to look awful when I wear my jeans shorts to school. Are there any good home remedies to reduce the redness?
I'm not concerned about the pain, because I have a good pain tolerance and this doesn't hurt, so I don't need any medicines... JUST GET RID OF THE COLOUR
